Origin

Built With Athletes, Refined Through Experience

776BC was founded by two-time Olympian and Beijing silver medallist Cameron McKenzie-McHarg with one purpose: to create gear that stands up to the athletes who wear it hardest.

Years at the top taught him that great product doesn’t come from assumptions. It comes from testing, feedback, and thousands of hours of real training. Since 2013, athletes have shaped every stage of how 776BC is made.

The Test Crew is the next step in that approach, built on one belief: the athletes who push their gear hardest should have the most say in how it’s built.

The Process

How It Works

Members of the Test Crew get new products and prototypes early, put them through real training and racing, and send their feedback straight to the 776BC founders and product team.

From fit and durability to the details that matter when it counts, the athlete’s voice sits at the centre of every decision. This is where real training meets product development.

Debrief form + short video review

Help shape the next generation of performance apparel.

We’re not after athletes who tell us the product’s great. We want the ones who challenge us. Who notice the details. Who ask the hard questions. Who believe every product can be better.

We know the best gear comes from listening to the athletes who know it best.

Questions

FAQ

Who can apply to the Test Crew?

Any athlete can apply. You don’t need to be elite or professional, you need a serious approach. We take athletes at different levels who train consistently and pay attention to the details. You’ll need to be 18 or over and based in Australia, New Zealand, the US or the UK. Applications are open year-round and reviewed monthly.

How are 776BC testers selected?

We select across disciplines, training conditions, locations and weekly volume, so feedback covers every condition the gear has to hold up to. Each intake is small and selected by hand.

Do I keep the gear?

Yes. Test Crew members keep their kit at no cost. Testing and honest feedback are the only ask.

Is this the same as being a brand ambassador?

No. Ambassadors promote the brand publicly; Test Crew members critique pre-production kit privately. Different job, different people — testers are never asked to post promotional content.

What's the time commitment?

The 776BC Test Crew asks for a minimum of four weeks of regular training use per cycle, plus a debrief at the end. Membership runs per intake rather than as an ongoing commitment, so you’re signing up for one cycle at a time. Testers who stay engaged are invited back for the next one.

Can I post about unreleased gear, or is it confidential?

Unreleased products and prototypes are confidential until we launch them. Keep them off social until we say otherwise. We’ll tell you when a product goes public, and we’ll often ask you to share then.

What if I'm not selected?

You’ll stay in our pool and be considered for future intakes. No need to reapply.
